During this retreat, you will be guided by Marzia “Kamala” Poggiani to practice yoga according to the Kashmiri tradition in which you consciously and freely explore the body’s movements, carried by the energy of the breath. You will connect to the power of silence and through it learn to become more aware of how your body, mind and emotions interact. In observing yourself, without judgment, you will meet and own your limits and resistances, thus allowing you to experience the intensity of the present moment.
Practices will be conducted in English. All ages and levels welcome, including beginners.
Marzia “Kamala” Poggiani has always been interested in oriental disciplines and has been practicing Hatha Yoga since 2003. She graduated as a Yoga teacher and Ayurvedic therapist with a master’s degree in Yoga Therapy at the Jaty School in Milan founded by Leila Costa. In 2009, she met Eric Baret, a renowned Yoga teacher in the Kashmiri Tantra tradition. She continues to follow his seminars, and, among others, participated in his post-training “Yoga of Silence” course. She had the opportunity to deepen her practice in an Ashram in India and to study Mantras, first with the master Krishna Das in the Himalayas, and then earning a diploma as Professor of Sound with Patrick Torre, founder of the Institut des Art de la Voix of Paris. Since 2008, Marzia manages the L’Albero della Vita Cultural Center in Chianciano (Tuscany), where she teaches weekly Yoga classes for adults and children, collaborating with public and private institutions (www.alberodellavitachianciano.com).
